I first met my wife when I was just 10 years old, back in elementary school. She was the new transfer student in our class, and from the moment I saw her, it felt like my soul had found its match. We quickly became best friends. Like a story straight out of a teenage romance, our friendship blossomed into something deeper. She was my first and true love.
After college, fate brought us together again during a trip to Japan. It was there that we reaffirmed what we had always known in our hearts: we were meant to be. On March 3rd, 2022, in the beautiful city hall of San Francisco, CA, we officially became a couple, sealing our bond in a way that felt nothing short of sacred.
Now, we’re building a life filled with love and joy in the serene town of Iowa City, where she’s chasing her dreams and fighting for her doctorate. Every day together is a sweeter chapter in the story we’ve been writing. ❤️
“Margaret” Jie Li is a highly skilled and accomplished obstetrician and gynecologist, specializing in fertility and reproductive endocrinology. She earned her medical degree (equivalent to a U.S. M.D.) from Xiangya School of Medicine at Central South University, a prestigious institution renowned for its medical excellence in southern China.
She is now pursuing the Ph.D. degree in Biomedical Science with a focus on Cell and Developmental Biology at the Carver College of Medicine, University of Iowa. Her research is dedicated to advancing knowledge in her field and contributing to innovations in reproductive health.
Beyond her professional achievements, Jie is a culinary enthusiast with expertise in authentic Hunan cuisine, a testament to her deep appreciation for her cultural heritage. In her personal time, she enjoys staying active at the gym, capturing the world through photography, grooming her cat, and playing the piano.
“Nana” Chuqi is a 4-year-old Chinese calico cat. She was born in Changsha, and then traveled with my wife to Mexico and U.S. She subjectively is the most beautiful Chinese calico cat with a very nice front face. She is super smart knowing how to open the door, how to sneak out of the window, and how to identify that cats in videos are fake.
Her name came from a character in Gujian2, a famous and enjoyable video game in China, who is an essential supporting co-star therein depicted with cunningness but loyalty. The name itself in Mandarin means the Seventh Day in the Lunar Calendar. According to that, she also has a arguably better-hearing Japanese name, 七ちゃん or 七酱 in Chinese.
